Plastic Waste and Climate,
What is their relationship?

52 % of Turtles Have Eaten Plastic Waste

It is a widely known fact that plastic takes hundreds of years to decompose, and when it breaks down into microplastics, it participates in the extinction of marine life. For instance, it has been revealed that 52% of turtles worldwide have eaten plastic waste, putting all sea turtle species at risk.

Ocean plastic pollution starts with humans, but climate change, especially warming, is also playing a role in accelerating it. We found this interesting and through this team project, we are trying to discover what climate phenomena are related to plastic pollution, how they accelerate them, and how to solve these problems.
